Not Wanting to Forget . . .
. . . a Show Statement!
I spend a lot of time not wanting to forget the good things that happen. Having avery forgetful mind is kind of frustrating at times, but it challenges me to be more intentional and creative about what and how I remember.
My childhood home has been a space that brings me back in time and helps me to remember many things from my life. Now that I am off trying to become a real adult, I have realized that the body of art I have created here is a result of trying to find a new way to hold my most cherished memories.
Each one of these pieces began with me trying to capture a good memory. From creating a table that was meant to hold physical representations of a memory, to simplified wildflower prints that remind me of the summer days back home. Every work in this exhibit is meant to help remind me of something that I would otherwise forget.
My question for you is, what would you not want to forget?
